Richard Corbally Obituary

RICHARD THOMAS CORBALLY

KENNEWICK —Richard Thomas Corbally, 74, of Kennewick, passed away at the family's home in Desert Aire, WA.

He was born on May 7, 1939 to John and Helen (Parsons) Corbally in Great Falls, MT. In fifth grade, he met his future wife, Phyllis Nardinger. He graduated from Central Catholic High School with Phyllis and enlisted in the Navy. There, he completed his six-year obligation, serving two years of active duty. Next, he simultaneously worked full-time at the Great Falls Tribune, obtained his journeyman printer card, and graduated from the College of Great Falls with degrees in Business and Economics. Dick and Phyllis were married at St. Gerard's Catholic Church in Great Falls, MT on December 26, 1959.

In June of 1965, Dick was hired by Phillips Petroleum, whereupon the family moved to Salt Lake City, where he worked as a district manager. Then, in June of 1967, the family was transferred to Kennewick, WA. In 1972, he joined Foster & Marshall (Smith & Barney) as a stock broker. He retired in 2004.

In Kennewick, he coached Pee Wee, Minor League, Major League, Pony League, and Colt League baseball for his sons' teams. He also coached girls' basketball for his daughters and boys' baseball at St. Joseph's school. Dick was a lifelong golfer and a member of Desert Aire Golf Course. He often attended Mariner spring training. In addition to these, Dick loved fishing and hunting. In his retirement, he totally enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids, while also learning to hunt for mushrooms!

The Corballys are a WSU Cougar family because Sean, Jeff, and Curt all graduated from there, and two granddaughters are currently attending.

Richard is survived by his wife of 53 years, Phyllis (Nardinger) Corbally; daughter Sean H. Scarr (Rodney) of Sammamish, WA; sons Jeffrey R. Corbally (Annie) of Las Vegas, NV and Curtis T. Corbally of Renton, WA; granddaughters Jamie L. Scarr and Haylie L. Scarr; and grandson Kevin R. Corbally. ; 100-year-old mother Helen Corbally; and brother Jack Corbally (Patty).

He was preceded in death by his daughters Jana and Baby Sister, and his father, John J. Corbally.

A rosary will be held at Mueller's Chapel of the Falls on Wednesday, September 4 at 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic church on Thursday, September 5, at 1:00 p.m. Father Richard Sedlacek will officiate.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Joseph's school or a charity of one's choice.

Phylis and family,

So sorry to hear about Dick. I last talked with him in July and we had made golfing plans for the winter. He was fighting hard to get well. I know he had a great love for all of you. Be at peace knowing that he will be watching over all of us from an exalted place in heaven.
