Mark Doubek Obituary

Doubek, Mark

Mark Doubek, 59, of Luxemburg, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, October 1, 2016 after his battle with cancer. He battled this disease with dignity, courage, and humor right up to the end.

He was born on December 16, 1956 in Menominee, MI, to the late Robert and Doris Doubek (Prucha). Mark graduated from West High School in 1974. On August 16, 1989 he married Donna Becks. He had worked for Immel Construction and IEI Construction until he became self employed as a general contractor.

Mark enjoyed the simple life. He had a very big heart and he was always willing to help anyone even before he would take care of himself. He loved being with his family and couldn't wait for his grandchildren to stop over. Above all else he enjoyed spending his time with his children and grandchildren on their farm riding their ATVs, motorbikes, and skateboarding down the "big hill" until the day his step-son John wiped out and broke his arm. Mark loved his entire family but his grandson Sean found a special place in his heart. They shared a special bond and love for each other and Mark looked at Sean as the son he never had. His Fourth of July picnics were really something to look forward to, especially with the beautiful fireworks display in the evening. What a nice way to finish the day.

He also loved to golf and will be sadly missed by his golf team of over 30 years (John M., Bob L., Mike W., Mike L., Pat L., Pat M., and Steve D.) After golf they would drink a few beers, play some cards and solve all of the world's problems. We will miss his funny animated stories that brought us all to tears many times. Friendships like that are very hard to find.

Mark is survived by his wife Donna, step-sons John (Heather) Summers and Jason Summers, his grandchildren Sean, Xavier, Savannah, Cheyenne, and Raiden Summers, and his brothers Steve Doubek (Kathy) and Bruce Doubeck, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Doris Doubek, his sister Annette DeChamps, and his grandparents George and Mildred Smiltneck, and Bill and Margaret Anderson.

Please join the family in a comfortable and very casual celebration of Mark's past life on earth and his new life in Heaven on Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 4:00-6:00 pm at CZ's Bushville Lanes, 2280 S County Road P, Luxemburg, WI.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.

Dear Doubek family. I am so sorry to hear that Mark has passed away. He was such a kind person and had such an outgoing personality. Over the years that I knew Mark he always showed a sincere interest in how I was doing. I had the unique good fortunate to work with his sister Annette for years and during that time, I had the opportunity to talk with Mark on many occasions. I will keep Mark in my prayers.
