David Howell Obituary
Honea Path
David "Dixie" Mitchell Howell, 85, husband of Loretta Bivens Howell, of 200 Goodrich St., died Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Florence Alabama, he was the son of the late David and Darthula Mitchell Howell. He was of the Holiness Faith and a US Navy Veteran. He was a former football coach at Furman University and The University of Virginia. He was retired from Sloan Construction Company and was an avid Carolina Gamecock fan.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are: two sons, Terry Howell of New Jersey and Bill Hubaleck and wife Phyllis of Greenville; a daughter, Lorraine Eskew and husband Thomas of Honea Path; a grandchild, Heather Cox and a great-grandchild, Serenity Eskew.
Memorial services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Rogers officiating.
