Daniel Hall Obituary


News Death Notice

HALL, Daniel M. age 75, a Ross resident for over 50 years passed away Saturday morning, October 16, 2010 at Fort Hamilton Hospital. He was born on May 16, 1935 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of Charles and Stella (Freeman) Hall. Dan graduated from Cincinnati Public Schools Graphic Arts. He married Barbara Lane and together they raised three children. For over 25 years he worked for Fairfield City Schools as a school bus driver. He was a member of Columbia Lodge #44 and Hoffner Lodge #253 F&AM, Cincinnati Scottish Rite, and Cincinnati Shriners where he served as the leader of the Kentucky Colonels. Boy Scouts of America, Troop # 923, was an important part of his life. He dedicated many hours to helping young boys of the Ross area go through the ranks of scouting. He is survived by his wife Barbara Hall; his children, Charles A. (Colleen) Hall of Colerain Township, Diane J. (Tony) Carter of West Elkton, and Richard D. (Shannon Webster) Hall of Fairfield; ten grandchildren, Erica N. Fritzsche, Jonathan C. Hall, Nathan D. Hall, Laurie D. Edison, Brandon M. Hall, Bethany B. Hall, Steven Carter, Logan Carter, Austin Carter, and Jackson Carter; four great grandchildren; one brother William (Margaret) Hall; one sister Dorothy (Roy) Lane; and many other loving relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers Kenneth and Cecil Hall. Funeral services will be held at Charles C. Young Funeral Home, 4032 Hamilton Cleves Road, Ross, Ohio on Tuesday at 12:00 noon with burial following in Venice Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon with Masonic services being held just prior to the funeral. Im sorry to hear of Dan's passing.Dan was like a father and grandfather to me.I loved seeing him and his smiling face.He will be missed.Love to all!!!

On behalf of Troop 923, would like to give condolences to the Hall Family.

Dan was a Troop 923 Asst. Scoutmaster 1967-72 and Troop Committee Member 1983-2008. He was also a Unit Commissioner for many many years on the district level.

Thank you Dan for your 32+ years of service to Ross Boy Scout Troop 923, the Fort Hamilton District, and Dan Beard Council.

You wisdom and kindness will be sorely missed!

May the Great Scoutmaster above be with us all until we meet again.......

Barb, You have our deepest sympathy. You and Dan have been such wonderful friends to mom & dad and since his passing 21 years ago you have always been there for mom. Gordon and I are so sorry to hear the loss of Dan. Our Prayers go out to Barb, Diane, Richard,Chuck and the rest of the Hall Family. I will always remember the memories of going to Breakfast at Pearl's with Dan,Barb,and Diane. I will always cherish the memories.. I know that Gordon will also miss the many chat's that he had with Dan on every Saturday and Sunday early mornings..
