Peter CAREY Obituary
CAREY, Peter von Haan
Peter von Haan Carey, beloved father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully in San Diego, CA on September 9, 2013 from lung failure. He was 71 years old. He was born and raised in Farmington before moving to California as an adult, where he spent 36 years working as an air traffic controller and training new staff. He was a graduate of Taft Preparatory School ('59) and Yale University ('64) and served in the United States Navy, including a tour in Vietnam. He is survived by his two daughters, Devan Correll of San Diego, CA and Laura Carey of Washington, DC.
His ashes will be laid to rest on Saturday, September 28 at 10:30 a.m. in Riverside Cemetery in Farmington. Arrangements are being handled by The Ahern Funeral Homes, Inc., www. ahernfuneralhome.com.
