Albert C. Canady

Albert C. Canady, affectionately called Al, 63, of Pembroke Street, Hartford, departed this life Thursday, (May 9, 2002) at home after a lengthy illness. He was born in Venice, FL on May 26, 1938 and at an early age moved with his family to Mississippi, then to Baltimore, MD. Ultimately he settled in Hartford after he met and married his wife Thelma. Al leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Thelma Broughton Canady; mother and step-father, Lula Mae and James Burns of Rochester, NY; two daughters, Connie and Angela of Baltimore, MD; a son Albert Jr., of Rochester, NY; step-children Richard and wife Lucia Broughton of the Bahamas, LaKeesha and Eric Broughton; three sisters, Mildred Brown, of Baltimore MD; Catherine Johnson and Lucretia (Ozelle) Vickers; a brother, Joseph, all of Rochester, NY; step-mother, Ola Canady, of Las Vegas, NV; mother and father-in-law Solomon and Ivy Francis; sisters and brothers-in law Beverly Hemmings of Hartford, Paulette Francis of New York, Sonia, Samuel and Errol Francis all of Jamaica; grandchildren, Ronald Bird, Tommy Heard and Shannon Matthews of Baltimore, MD, Keshon Abrom and Kauri Broughton of Hartford, Johanna, Francesca and Richard Broughton III of the Bahamas; four great grandchildren of Rochester, NY, including Jennifer and Jasmin; aunt and uncle, Ella Mae and Samuel Willis of Baltimore, MD; special friends Maudine (Jake) Long, Gloria (Billy) Long; George and Daisy Scott of California; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at Faith Assembly of God, 846 Prospect Avenue, Hartford, 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18th. A wake will be held for one hour before the funeral at the Church. Burial will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Road, Bloomfield. FUQUA Funeral Service, 94 Granby Street, Bloomfield, has charge of arrangements.
