Louis AURIGEMMA Obituary





AURIGEMMA, Louis

Louis J. Aurigemma, 89, of East Berlin for most of his life, widower of the Pauline B. Aurigemma, loving husband of Mary C. Aurigemma, died Tuesday afternoon at home. Born December 19, 1921 in Waterbury, son of the late Andrea and Amelia (Lombardi) Aurigemma, he was a member of St Paul's Church in Kensington, former member of the Knights of Columbus, Grand Chief Ranger of the Foresters of America, and a member of the Forever Young Club. In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by his loving family: two daughters and a son, Patricia Nadus and her husband Al of East Berlin, Paula Horn of Virginia Beach, VA, and Roger Aurigemma and his wife Mary of Cromwell, two step-daughters, Rosalie Punkunus and her husband Richard, and Patricia Young and her husband Ted, all of Kensington; one granddaughter, Nicole Carson, of Williamsburg, VA, one grandson, Krystopher Aurigemma and his wife Teresa of Rocky Hill, two step-grandsons and three step-granddaughters, Bob Punkunus of San Francisco, CA, Jimmy Punkunus of Kensington, Amy DeAngelis and her husband Justin of Newington, Elise Young of Bath, PA, and Paige Young of Kensington, great-grandchildren, Madisyn Drew and Brooke Harper Aurigemma, and Aiden and Gavin DeAngelis; one brother, John Aurigemma of Portland, a sister, Carmelina Rosano of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Frank Aurigemma, Peter Aurigemma, and Carlo Aurigemma, three sisters, Mary Tommasi, Louisa Errico, and Virginia LaChase, and one granddaughter Shannon Horn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Paul's Church on Alling Street in Kensington. Burial in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill, will be at the convenience of the family. Friends and relatives are invited to call at Porter's Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway in Berlin on Sunday from 4-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice VNA of Central Connecticut, 205 West Main Street, New Britain, CT 06052. His family would like to extend heart-felt thanks to the staff of The Hospital of Central Connecticut and Dr. Wylie Hosmer and the oncology staff of New Britain.
