Albert Oberg Obituary

OBERG, Albert W. Albert W. Oberg, 89, of Groton passed away on Thursday, (May 7, 2009). He was born on December 5, 1919 in Holden MA, the son of Axel W. and Hannah (Gustafson) Oberg. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Dorothy (Ware) Oberg, a son Leonard Oberg and his wife Diane, a son David Oberg and his wife Susan, and two granddaughters Alexis and Morgan Oberg. He was a World War II Veteran having served in the United States Coast Guard at Avery Point in Groton. He was a 50 year member of the Sphinx Temple Shriners and a 55 plus year member of Charity & Relief Lodge (now Coastal Lodge #57) of the Masons. He was also a life member of the Groton Lodge of Elks and the Vasa Order of America in Providence, RI. Funeral services and burial are private. Memorial donations in his name made be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children – Springfield, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104-2396.
