BROWN, Margaret Louise (Greene)
Margaret Louise Brown (Greene), long-time resident of West Hartford, died peacefully on February 26, 2012 in her Portland, Oregon home surrounded by family and friends. She was born on July 15, 1927 in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Clarke and Sadie (Davis) Greene, and lived in Westfield, New Jersey before attending Wilson College. Margaret devoted her life to raising her sons. She was quite an accomplished crossword puzzler, bridge player and cook, embracing the style of the great Julia Child; life-long Boston Red Sox fan, and volunteered at the UCONN Health Center Auxiliary Thrift Shop in West Hartford. She is survived by her three sons, Peter Brown of Pine Meadow, CT; Douglas Brown and his wife Mary (Devine) and their son Jared, of Portland, Oregon; and Thomas Brown currently living in Fussa, Japan and his daughter Meghan of New Braunfels, Texas.
Memorial services will be private with family and friends. Memorial donations may be made to the UCONN Auxiliary Thrift Shop or Providence Hospice, Portland, Oregon.

Mom, I will miss your humor, kindness and company. Look forward to seeing you again in Heaven. Couldn't have chosen a better mother in law if I had been given the choice! Love always, Mary

The great thing about life is the people you meet along the way and the impact they can have upon you. Mrs. Brown was like a second mother to me from when I was about 7 years old until mid high school. I spent a lot of time at their house over those years and my memories of her are many and wonderful. RIP Mrs. B
