Bertrand J. LESSARD

LESSARD, Bertrand J. Bertrand J. Lessard, 81, of East Hartford, beloved husband of Ludgarde (Tremblay) Lessard, passed away Saturday (February 20, 2010). He was born November 8, 1928 in Notre-Dame-des-Bois, Canada the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Beaudry) Lessard. Prior to his retirement Bertrand was employed as a carpenter. He enjoyed working outside, camping, and winter sports, especially snowmobiling. However, his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Including Ludgarde, his loving wife of 53 years, Bertrand is survived by two sons, Marc Lessard and his fiancé, Stacia of East Hartford, and Pierre Lessard of East Hartford; two daughters, Suzanne Orsini and her husband, Gregory of Tolland, and Helene Albert and her husband, Christopher of Stafford Springs; a brother, Aurele Lessard and his wife, Lucille of Quebec, Canada; three sisters, Jeanne St. Laurent of Newington, Therese Halle and her husband, Laurent of Mansfield, and Simone Grenier and her husband, Clement of Newington; and five adored grandchildren, Nicholas Orsini, Luke Lessard, Matthew Lessard, Renee Albert, and Michelle Albert. He was predeceased by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Reine-Claire Dupuis and her husband, Georges, and Laurette Boucher and her husband Robert, and a daughter-in-law Karen Lessard. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 26th at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church, 370 May Road, East Hartford. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bertrand's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Avenue, P.O. Box 1004, Meriden, CT 06450.
