DeVOE, Louise Heineck Louise Heineck DeVoe, formerly of West Hartford, passed away at Middlewoods in Farmington on Thursday, (May 4, 2006) at the age of 99. She was predeceased by her husband, J. Stanbury DeVoe, to whom she was married for 53 years. Born in New Britain, on September 19, 1906, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Alice (Chambers) Heineck. Mrs. DeVoe was a long time member of The West Hartford Dames. She did volunteer work for the Red Cross in Farmington for 13 years and volunteered for Easter Seals for two years. She was employed at Travelers Insurance Company for ten years and was a member of First Church of Christ Congregational of New Britain. She had great interest in knitting and going to lunch with friends. Mrs. DeVoe was predeceased by two brothers, Albert H. Heineck and Royal C. Heineck. She is survived by her nephew, Thomas L. DeVoe and his wife Jeanne of West Hartford; and her sister-in-law, Marjorie DeVoe; her niece, Marcia DeVoe, and two grandnieces, all of North Carolina. There will be a private graveside service May 10, at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford, with the Reverend Susan Pritchard officiating. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation of the staff of Middlewoods of Farmington, McLean Hospice of Simsbury, and Mrs. DeVoe's caring aide, Bessie. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to a charitable organization of the donor's choice. Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, West Hartford, has care of arrangements.
