PATTERSON, Benjamin Benjamin Patterson, the son of the late Luey and Annie Claude Williams Patterson, life began on February 12, 1944 in Brundidge, Pike County, AL. He was one of 10 siblings. He attended school in Alabama. He worked as a farmer for many years. He later moved to Hartford in 1965. Benjamin worked as a truck driver and doing construction jobs for many years. He was employed as property manager at The Hartford Insurance Company for many years. He was a high spirited man. He enjoyed being with his friends and family all the time. He resided at Bloomfield Healthcare Center in Bloomfield for five years. The staff and residents loved him. He gained many friends that have now gone home. On Thursday, (March 3, 2005) he was born into eternity after a peaceful rest with his loved ones by his side. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, two sons, Tyrone Patterson of East Hartford, Scott L. Patterson of Hartford; and one daughter, Eloise McCormack of East Hartford, and was predeceased by a daughter Juanita Patterson of Brundidge, AL. Also to cherish his memories he leaves behind four brothers, Ossie Patterson of Hartford, Curtis Patterson of Hartford, Harold Patterson of Windsor, and Willie Patterson of Windsor; his three sisters, Betty Dunn of Hartford, Maxine Baker of Hartford, and Shirley Newson of Brundidge, AL. He has two daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, three sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. The Homegoing will be held at De Leon Funeral Home, 104 Main Street, Hartford, on Tuesday, March 8, at 12 Noon. Final resting place will be determined at a later date by the family.
