I wanted to write to express my sympathies at Aunt Alice's passing. Often when I try to explain our familial connections by saying things like, "she was my grandmother's cousins' mother", people think that means she was a distant relative, but in this family there is no such thing. I've always been amazed that even with the size of our family we still remain close and connected. I believe we can attribute that to the patriarchs and matriarchs of our family keeping the family bound together. It's for that reason I was saddened to hear of Aunt Alice's passing and my prayers go out to the family as we deal with the loss of a wonderful lady. Aunt Alice, you will be in our thoughts and hearts until we are all together again, when that time comes I am really looking forward to a warm batch of your chocolate chip cookies!
