Phyllis Joy Bounds, 70, of Hattiesburg, died January 21, 2012 at her home. Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg followed by burial in Richburg Cemetery.

Mrs. Bounds was the owner of P & L Upholstery and a member of Sandy Run Praise Worship Center. She was an avid gardener.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, James L. Bounds and Wesley Whigham; her parents, Phillip and Bertha Overstreet; and a sister, Cynthia Rose Jeffries.

She is survived by three sons, Timothy (Mary) Whigham, Anthony Whigham and Scottie Whigham all of Hattiesburg; two daughters, Deborah Stanley of Hattiesburg, Pamela (Ken) Draskovic of Scottsboro, Ala.; three brothers, Phillip Overstreet, Rodney (Elaine) Overstreet, Richard (Linda) Overstreet, all of Hattiesburg; four sisters, Catherine Zehner of Maryville, Tenn., Jean Myer of Nancy, Ky., Shirley Anderson of Milton, Fla. and Bonnie Brackett of Gulfport; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:30 - 8 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.

To Phyllis' family. I met her back in the 90's when I worked at the local grocery store where she often visited. She was so nice and friendly to me. I tasted "hushpuppies" for the first time as she brought some to me at the store where I was a cashier, also some mighty tasty fish as well. She sure could cook. I miss her just thinking about it those years ago. Love, Ms. Linda Williams
