Marie Clifton-Harris Obituary

Clifton-Harris WARRENSBURG - Marie J. Clifton-Harris, 71, of Warrensburg, IL., passed away at 5:42 P.M. on Friday (01-14-2011) at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:30 A.M. Wednesday (01-19-2011) in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home Decatur, IL. Visitation will be held on Tuesday (01-18-2011) from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. A brief graveside service will be held at Sugar Grove Cemetery near Wapella, IL. immediately following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: D.M.H. Heart and Lung Institute or Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network. Marie was born on October 15, 1939 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Russell and Elsie Dunaway. She was a lifetime member of Sharon United Methodist Church. Marie loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her fiancé Joe Norris with whom she also enjoyed going to Corvette shows. She also enjoyed crocheting and reading. Marie is survived by her five children: Rebecah Tromm of Lexington, KY, Veronica Fields and husband Randy of Troy, IL., Jim Clifton and wife Marcia of Attica, IN., Penny Pennell and husband Thom of Armington, IL., and David Clifton and wife Ursula of Stanwood, Washington; fiancé: Joe Norris of Warrensburg, IL., step-son: Mike Norris and wife Heather of Springfield, IL.; 15 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother James and sister Beverly Stovall. Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com. Obituary written by family members.
