Roma Jackson Obituary

EFFINGHAM - Roma May Jackson 88 of Effingham, IL, formerly of Mattoon, IL and Shumway, IL, passed away at 8:45 AM May 11, 2011 in Effingham Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham, IL. Roma was born Aug. 5, 1922 in Liberty Township, Effingham County, Illinois the daughter of George H. and Ruth B. Hayward Robson. She married Donald G. Jackson August 19, 1950 and he passed away Aug. 1, 1990. Roma graduated from Beecher City Illinois High School and received a degree in accounting from Sparks Business College in Shelbyville. With her husband Donald, they operated Jackson Accounting Service in Mattoon for many years. Roma was a former member of First United Methodist Church of Mattoon. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, her parents, sister Mary Orpha Robson and brother Roy Robson. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday May 14, 2011 in Brummerstedt Funeral Home in Stewardson, IL with Rev. Paul Bauer officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hubbartt Cemetery, Beecher City. Memorials can be made to a fund for maintenance of Hubbartt Cemetery, Beecher City.
