J.R. Pearson Obituary

POTTSBORO - J.R. Pearson, 86, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2011 at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 5 at Pottsboro Church of Christ, with David Hamrick and Ralph Baldwin officiating. Interment will follow at Georgetown Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rocky Harlow, Gary Hayes, Carl Kent, Frank Winfrey, Delbert Clountz, and Jim Pearson. The honorary pallbearer will be Bob Pearson.
Mr. Pearson was born January 27, 1925 in Pottsboro to Sam and Bertha McGregor Pearson. He married Dorothy Pugh on January 10, 1947. She preceded him in death on December 22, 2010.
He was a long time member of the Pottsboro Church of Christ and a Carpenter all his life.
Mr. Pearson is survived by son Charles Ray Pearson of Pottsboro; daughter Brenda Kay Lashley and husband Louis of Pottsboro; brother Paul Pearson of Del City, Okla.; sisters Arlene Joines of Denison, Fran Winfrey and husband Frank of Denison, Bobbie Baldwin and husband Ralph of Denison; grandson, Jacob Ray Pearson and wife Jessie of Denison; great-grandchildren Avery Pearson of Denison, Brittani and Caleb Cathey of Sherman; sisters-in-law Bernice Pearson of Waxahachie, Ladora Pearson of Pottsboro, Ann Sattari, Margaret Ross and husband Ray, Frances Robinson and husband Fred all of California.
Preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorothy and two brothers Owen and Sam Pearson.
Visitation will be held 6-7 Wednesday, May 4 at Johnson-Moore, Pottsboro Chapel.
