Jim Jackson Obituary

ROCKDALE - James Durelle Jackson of Rockdale, Texas and formerly of Whitesboro, passed away suddenly Saturday Jan. 8, 2011 at his home.
Jim was born on Dec. 4, 1953 in Monahans, Texas and had lived in Rockdale for the last 17 years.
Services will be held at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, with Tim Titsworth officiating. Graveside services will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro at 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13.
Jim Jackson led an amazing life, filled with fun, laughter, love and caring. Saying that he was an amazing man seems trivial and miniscule when you consider the life he led.
A man with a brilliant mind and a passion for life, he was constantly on the move. His passion for family, friends and his work was insurmountable. His generosity was unmatched by anyone.
A man with a one-liner for everything, he never failed to entertain a room, even if that just meant his funny sideways glance with one eyebrow raised. Jim never met a stranger and those who met him rarely walked away without calling him friend.
Jim is survived by his wife, Janelle Lee Street Jackson; children, Kacy Lynn Kupper of Denison, and her children, Jackson Thomas Kupper and Kellyn Jackson, both of Denison; Leslie Jackson and Ricky Roberts of Sherman, Texas and their daughter, Madilyn Roberts of Sherman; Melissa and Michael Lollis of Aubrey; Josh Jackson of Rockdale; Jared Jackson of Richardson; father, Owen and Sue Ann Jackson Jr. of Grapevine Texas; brothers and sisters, Cathy and Darr Yarbrough of Sutherlin, Oregon, Debbie Jackson of Anderson, Calif., Judy Gray of Montrose, Colo., Trina Moore of Whitesboro, Jinx Roberts of Denton, Kayla Rudzinski, Kris Clifton of Portland, Ore., Jane Ann Jackson of Dallas and Pete Jackson of Burlington Ky.; sisters-in-law and their husbands, JoAnn and Dan Ecker of Sherman and Janet and Wally Cox of Gainesville; and friend and former wife, Robbi Barnes of Sherman.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Duane Clifton; grandparents, Owen Lamar and Nettie Jackson; and sister, Jamie Clifton.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Don Neely, Derron Clay, Marty Tanner, Jaime Castellanos, Robert Lambert, Mike Hargesheimer and Joe Rozner.
Public visitation for Jim will be Monday evening from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. The family will only receive friends at their home, Valhalla Farms in Rockdale from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday.
Memorials may be made to St. Judes or the Special Olympics.
Beloved husband, Dad, Papa, Pops, we are all better for our time with you and not a day will ever go by that you are not missed and remembered. WE LOVE YOU!
