Dylan English Obituary

Jan. 14, 1994 - Feb. 27, 2016 On February 27, 2016, Dylan English, our son, big brother, little brother, grandson, friend and cousin, passed away peacefully at his home. He was 22 years old. His passing was much too soon for all of us. He leaves a void in the many lives he touched with his infectious smile and outgoing personality. A gathering was always energized when Dylan was involved. Dylan was born the middle of three boys on January 14, 1994, to his parents, Joe and Kim English of Snohomish, Wash. He lived most of his life in Snohomish, spending a few years in Lake Stevens, Wash. as a tyke. To say the house of three boys was loud is an under-statement. With older brother Daryn providing the brawn and younger brother Jake bringing up the rear, Dylan was the organizer with big ideas, not always working out as planned. At the age of three he took the family sedan for a drive down the driveway and crashed into the rockery. This is the only thing that saved him from shooting further down the road. His contentious relationship with the automobile followed him into his adult years, sometimes we just called him "crash". He attended schools at Riverview Elementary and graduated from Snohomish High School in 2012. The weekends of his youth were spent swimming, riding bikes, scooters, family get-togethers, bar-b-ques, fishing, golf, baseball, basketball and soccer with Snohomish United. He was a great teammate, leader, and always the most boisterous. He rode snowmobiles at G & G English's cabin near Lake Wenatchee, travelled to Louisiana to visit his Mamaw Charlotte and Papaw Lewis Hughes. He made many friends along the way that lasted through his shortened life. After graduation, he worked odd jobs, but thought he found his true calling as a Chef, having a brief enrollment at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Seattle, Wash. He landed stints at Sockeyes and the Monroe Buzz Inn as a line chef. He enjoyed cooking for his friends, G & G Vern and Jay, hanging with his many friends and attending concerts. Dylan was always a dreamer. Big ideas and bigger plans, always on a list. Sometimes, not always executed, but written down nonetheless. There are those that would say he's in a better spot; we disagree. The best spot for him was with us, where we could hug him, talk to him, listen more, laugh with him, and help him. It was where his brothers could wrestle with him, his cousins Emma and Isaac listened as he cheered them on during sporting events. He leaves behind his Mom and Dad; his brothers, Daryn (Carissa) and Jake; grandparents, Verne and Jayleen English of Snohomish; grandparents, Charlotte and Lewis Hughes of Shreveport, La.; Uncle Dave, Aunt Sara, Emma and Isaac of Snohomish, Uncle Mike of Seiku, Wash., Jessica (Phenon) of Houston, Texas; Uncle Lewis of Shreveport; and numerous extended family members. Funeral services are under the arrangement of Bauer Funeral Services of Snohomish. A memorial will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Swans Trail Farms (The Farm), 7301 Rivershore Rd., Snohomish, WA 98290

Dylan visited our home often. His good nature and positive attitude was energizing. His presence made our home a happier place. Dylan always left with that special twinkle in his eyes and sweet crooked smile which remained long after his departure. They are with us still.

Over the years we have hosted many of our boys friends in our home. Dylan is one of those boys and he was standout due to his amazing smile and infectious spirit. A life ended far too young. He will be missed. Deepest sympathy to his family. Thank you for sharing him with us.

I've known Dylan since the 2nd grade at Riverview all the way up till our senior year in high school. He was always such a great guy and always had a smile on his face. He is definitely missed by so many. I wish I had gotten to know him more before his passing. Best wishes to the family during this hard time.
