Dear Waleene and Family: So very sorry to hear of the passing of Alan. I. like Ed Hansen, had not seen him for many yrs. I recall bowling with him a few times and seeing him many times at Evergreen Lanes in the 1950's. I, like Ed, remember that great looking 57 chev convert. It was a torq blue and white beauty. I can still picture it in the bowling alley parking lot. So many years have passed. Us bowlers from Evergreen Lanes will be having our very 1st reunion this coming June at Evergreen Lanes. You can be sure that his name will be said as a rememberance of a good man and a good bowler who loved the game. I pray that you have peace and comfort with you. Dennis Larson

Waleene and family,
I am so sorry to hear about Alan. It has been so long since I have seen you, Waleene. I know you both have been in bad health for awhile, as Boyd and Donna have relayed that to me over the years. It seems like forever since we all lived on 79th. What fond memories I have of watching TV on the first TV in our neighborhood. I know Boyd has great memories of times with Alan. Waleene, you have my sincere sympathy. I know how hard this is, having lost Vern four years ago. I still miss him so much. I will try to attend the service, however I work Mon., Wed. & Fri.so it depends on my workload. You are in my thoughts. Take care. Colleen Loth

Waleene & Family,

I came into the family through marriage. I will never forget the great times we had at family gatherings, and it was always a time I looked forward to coming North to the family social functions. Annette and I will thoroughly miss Alan..He will always be in our thoughts as you and your family will be during this sad time. We will always remember the good times we had to share together with family. If there is anything Annette and I can do, we are here for you.

With all of our love and sympathy during this difficult time.

Waleene and family,

I am sorry to learn of Al's passing. Although it has been too long since I last saw Al, I have many fond memories of our friendship and bowling exploits going back 55 years. Al was a very good bowler and teammate.

I still have vivid recollections of the trip the "Everett Junior All Star" bowling team took to southern California in the winter of 1957. There were six of us, our luggage and bowling equipment crammed into Al's brand new 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible for the trip. He was so proud of that car that he would only let one other member of the team drive (and that wasn't me)..

We ran into snow while crossing the California border and had to install chains. After installing the chains, Al couldn't find his car keys. In the dark, we frantically searched everywhere in the ice and snow around the car. In desperation, we concluded they might be in the trunk. Without a key, someone figured how to remove the back seat and all of our luggage from the trunk. Fortunately, we found the key in the trunk, repacked and proceeded to Los Angeles. What a trip for a bunch of teenagers!

Al was quite a good basketball player in those days, too. And a great guy! I will never forget Al Gardner. Please accept my condolences and prayers at this difficult time.

PS I am in Arizona and will be unable to attend the services.
