Lawrence Erickson Obituary

Lawrence Edward Erickson

On August 9, 2010 Lawrence Erickson went home to be with our Heavenly Father.
Born in Everett, WA on September 29, 1931 to Adrian and Hazel Erickson, Lawrence attended Everett schools graduating in 1949 from Everett High. In 1950 Lawrence joined the Navy and served as a medic. He was honorably discharged in 1954.
On July 4th of 1955 he married the love of his life, Marlene (Tudy) Scheller, of Mukilteo, WA, where they happily raised three children.
Lawrence was very involved in his community. He was a Little League Coach, Cub Scout Master, a volunteer Fireman, EMT and was appointed to the Mukilteo Planning Commision. He was an Elder and Sunday School teacher at Mukilteo Presbyterian Church.
After 36 years, he retired from Scott Paper Company where he was a Supervisor.
Lawrence and his wife moved to Marysville, WA where he began a new chapter in his life. He enjoyed driving tractors at Biringer Farms and driving school buses for Marysville School District. He also was a member of Marysville Seniors Against Crime.
Lawrence loved family gatherings and spending time with friends. He always managed to find someone to talk to when he walked his beloved dog, Benji, around Glenwood Mobile Estates where he had many friends.
Lawrence was a true gentleman. He never met a stranger. He smiled at everyone he met and called them friend.
He leaves behind him, his beloved wife, "Sweet Pea" Toots; his two sons, Larry, of Anchorage, AK, Jerry (Diana), of Marysville; and daughter, Cindy (Tim Rudolph), of Marysville. He had eight grandchildren, Amy (Patrick McCluskey), Nicole, Kelsey, Justin, Jodye, Krystina, Lori and Beth; and one great-grandchild, Isabel. He also leaves behind his brother, Robert (Clydene), of Wisconsin; and brother, Gene, of California. Also numerous relatives and good friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Hazel; sister, Delores Peterson; and two brothers, Richard and James.
A memorial celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 13, at Glenwood Mobile Estates. The address is 5900 64th St. NE in Marysville. Richard Oates will be officiating.
A special thank-you to the staff of Marysville Care Center. Their love and support through this difficult time has been greatly appreciated.

Dear Tudy,
I just heard today that Lawrence had passed away. I am so sorry for your loss. Of course, I haven't seen you for years and years, but Kay had filled me in a couple of years ago. I lost my husband in 2001 and can tell you that it never gets better, but it does get easier as time passes. I'm sure you have lots and lots of wonderful memories. I like to remember that I introduced you and Lawrence a long time ago. Much love, Desta

I also worked with Larry for many years and consider him the best supervisor we ever had. He always had interesting and funny stories to tell about some home remodling project, Mukilteo politics, his military service, or EMT expierences. He was a great person to know and to work for. He will be missed dearly by many people.
