Glenn Ingraham Obituary

Glenn Ingraham

Jesus welcomed Glenn Ingraham, 86, founder of Glenn's Welding, into Heaven while surrounded by his family.
Glenn grew up in California in the 1920s as one of five children. He started welding at Maricopa High School, and continued doing so in the US Navy. After returning from his World War II deployment to the Aleutian Islands, he married the love of his life, Elaine and finished his Navy duty in San Diego, CA. They then moved to Seattle, WA and later Alderwood Manor. During the 1940s and 50s Glenn and Elaine's children, Larry, Sandra, Dale and Mark, were born. In 1949 Glenn started Glenn's Welding taking pride in excellent customer service and reader board messages encouraging people to reflect on the important things in life. Glenn was also involved in the development and operation of area business parks with an emphasis on getting to know his customers.
The grandfather of 10 grandkids and 15 great-grandkids, he loved spending time with his kids and their families. He and Elaine traveled five continents, including short-term mission trips to Ecuador and South Africa. Glenn loved Jesus, his family and their annual Christmas Eve gathering. They enjoyed horses, boating, fishing, and working together.
Glenn was a loyal friend, encourager, and innovative positive thinker. In recent years he often said, "I'm too blessed to be stressed" and did his best to live consistent with his Christian faith. Many received notes and phone calls of encouragement and enjoyed his harmonica playing.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Elaine, of 65 years; sons, Larry (Audrey), Dale (Ann), Mark, and their families; and son-in-law, Abel Fortune. His daughter, Sandra; and daughter-in-law, Tamra passed away before him, and he outlived his siblings.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to: Alderwood Community Church (Missions Fund); International Chaplains Ministry - Support 7 (PO Box 476, Edmonds, WA 98020); and the Gideons (PO Box 394, Lynnwood, WA 98046).
A celebration of Glenn's life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 6, 2010, Alderwood Community Church, 3403 Alderwood Mall Blvd., Lynnwood, WA.

We will miss you.

We meant Glenn at Alderwood Community Church as greeters or just greeting during church service. Even though we did not know Glenn, and also Elaine we knew they were sincere, loving, caring people. This was really proven when we lost our granddaughter, and every Sunday Glenn and Elaine gave us love, encouragement, and prayer. Our prayers are really extended to Elaine and her family with the loss of Glenn.. --Bruce and Marjean Bristol

The Ingraham Family,

I had worked with Glenn for many years when he would come in and get building permits/tenant improvement permits at the City of Lynnwood. Glenn was always a joy to deal with and he always had such a positive attitude.
He always made me feel special and I know many people here feel that way. I will always smile when I think of Glenn. My prayers are with you all at this difficult time.
