Douglas W. Olson

1932 - 2017

(1932-2017) Doug Olson went home on June 1, 2017. He was born April 15, 1932, the oldest of three children in Everett, WA, to Theodore and Edith Olson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elinor Olson, his sister, Joanne Hume, and his brother, Dale Olson. He served in the Marines from 1949 to 1952. He worked as a plumber and then later as a pipe-fitter. He loved to fish and hunt. He was active in Marysville First Baptist Church and then later in Northwest Baptist Church of Marysville. Doug volunteered with Craftsmen for Christ and Hard Hats for Christ with whom he plumbed many churches, mission stations, and camps in Guatemala, Alaska, Kentucky, Tennessee, Kansas, Pennsylvania, Wyoming, California, Oregon, and Washington. He worked with Child Evangelism Fellowship helping remodel and design the interior of their Everett facility. He will be remembered for his hard work, hearty laugh, and willingness to serve others. He is survived by his wife, Regine Olson, his children, Sharon DeLong, Clint Olson, Mark Olson, Lori Trautman, Michael Olson, and Chris Olson; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on June 17, 2017, at Northwest Baptist Church, 1211 2nd St., Marysville, WA, 10:00 a.m. Cremation by Schaefer-Shipman.
