Harold L. "Harry" Nielsen, 82, of Sarasota, formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y., Glen Rock, N.J., Summit, N.J., Toms River, N.J. died May 9, 2011.
Services will be at a later date. Jennings Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 41 years Eileen; his brother Bill from California, his sister Virginia from Pennsylvania, his son Robert and his wife Lynne from North Haven, Conn.; his daughters Carol (pre-deceased), Maureen from Somerset, N.J. and Barbara from Dumont, N.J.; his grandson Sean, and several nieces and nephews.
Donations in his name can be made to St. Thomas More R. C. Church, 2506 Gulf Gate Drive, Sarasota, FL 34241 .

Rest in peace Dad. I am sure you are with Nana and Carol. You will be missed by the many hearts you've touched with your caring and loving heart. I miss you and the laughter we all shared. You've left an amazing legacy recorded by the thousands of pictures you took of us all over the years. I'm glad you got to see your wonderful work on dvd before leaving us. Please know that we will take care of the love of your life, and ours, Eileen. I loove you now and forever.

i bought my first car, 1968 pontiac tempest, from harry, although he didn't know it at the time. eileen just let me drive it home that day and told harry when he got home that she sold it to me. needless to say he was a bit upset. what did we know about insurance, titles, papers...i don't think eileen had ever sold/bought/registered a car, carol and i were kids, oy! it sat in the driveway on tilghman drive until i did all the paperwork and harry said i could drive it! yes, greenwood lake, such fun and good times! so sorry for your loss, but your great memories will live on!

I remember going up to your home on Greenwood lake with Barbara many many years ago. Those were fun summer days for us teenagers. Thank you Eileen, I will keep you in my thoughts during these sad days. Louise
