Donald M. Glazebrooks

VALDESE - Donald McArthur Glazebrooks, 67, of Ivory Pass, Valdese, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at Britthaven Nursing Center following a period of declining health. Mr. Glazebrooks was born Oct. 5, 1942, in Burke County to the late James Glazebrooks and Emma Deal Glazebrooks. He was formerly employed by Drexel Heritage Furniture. Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Price Glazebrooks of the home; three sons, Darrell Glazebrooks of Morganton, Tim Glazebrooks of Morganton and Randy Glazebrooks of Valdese; grandchildren, Drew Glazebrooks of the U.S. Navy in Norfolk, Va., Tara Glazebrooks of Valdese and Anakin Glazebrooks of Morganton; two stepgrandsons, Isaac Brittain and William McCrary; one great-grandchild, Adonis Glazebrooks; three brothers, David Glazebrooks, Ralph Glazebrooks and James Glazebrooks Jr.; and four sisters, Floye Andrews, Effie Icard, Alice Ledford and Geneva Hildebran. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert Glazebrooks, Rhoben Glazebrooks and John Glazebrooks, and one sister, Blanche Glazebrooks. A cryptside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, in the Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum. Officiating will be the Rev. Ronnie LeFevers. Entombment will follow.
