Shannon "Shamoo" Pravata

Shannon "Shamoo" J. Pravata, 44, a native and resident of Thibodaux went to be with the Lord Monday, June 2, 2014, at 12:55 a.m.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at House of Prayer Church in Thibodaux. A separate visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Danielle Granier Pravata; father, Philip Louis Pravata; two sons, Mark Pravata Cortes and Giovanni Pravata; two daughters, Layla and Ariel Pravata; cousins, Chad Reed and Elizabeth Haury; former wife and mother of Ariel, Jelena Cockerham, sister, Desiree Myers, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Janell Bellard Pravata; uncle, Donald Bellard; paternal grandparents, Philip Sr. and Mary Mike Pravata; maternal grandparents, Joseph Percy and Maydel Dupuis Bellard; and godfather, Johnny Reed Jr.
He was the proprietor of Snow Shack Snowballs of Thibodaux. He loved cooking, fishing, hunting and never met a stranger who was not a friend. He was a long-time manager of Western Sizzlin Steakhouse in Thibodaux. He was a member and reservist for Morgan City Police Department and Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a dedicated member of House of Prayer Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to help defray expenses. Donations may be made to any Coastal Commerce Bank in the name of Shannon J. Pravata Memorial Fund.
