Gerald Schexnayder Obituary

Gerald J. Schexnayder, 75, a native of Vacherie and resident of Thibodaux, died Monday, April 8, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Thibodaux. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Janell R. Schexnayder; son, Ryan Schexnayder and wife, Rhonda; daughters, Melissa S. Benoit and Sheri S. Guillot and husband, Stephen Jr.; brothers, Claude Schexnayder and Godfrey Schexnayder; grandchildren, Jeremy Benoit, Clint Schexnayder, Kaitlyn Schexnayder and Kurt Schexnayder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean Claude Schexnayder and Simone Weber Schexnayder; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Fedless Rodrigue; brothers, Arnold Schexnayder and Arthur Schexnayder; and sister, Joyce Steib.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served his country proudly.
Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
