Michelle Marks Obituary
Michelle Marie Marks, 40, met with her savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, October 27th, 2011. A native Houstonian, she attended Duchesne Academy for eight years and then graduated from Memorial Exemplary High School. Michelle attended Houston Community College for two years. She attended Mayo Modeling School, graduated and became one of their top models. As well as obtaining her Genealogy certificate, Michelle achieved Top Saleswoman for Gordon's Jewelry for three years in a row. As a child and through her teenage years, she attended the Houston Cat Show, and through the state of Texas, bringing home over four hundred first place trophies and ribbons. Later on, her interest changed and for ten years she bred pedigree dogs. She loved art and painted beautifully. She always loved Mother Nature, and all animals and plants were her friends. She had an effecturious laugh and had a heart of gold. Michelle was awarded, in July 2010 the Citizen's Award from the Houston Police Department for calling, following, and giving location while a burglary was taking place at the neighborhood grocery, and then following the criminals.
With all the Love and goodness in her heart, she died, on this earth, feeding the hungry, caring for the sick, loving her community, and taking care of every stray cat and dog that cross her path. We know Michelle is in heaven, as one of God's Angels.
Michelle is survived by her mother and father, Cynthia and William (Bill) Marks, beautiful daughter Luchia, Brothers Anthony (Tony) Marks and William (Billy) Marks, as well as several cousins. She loved and missed her Godmother dearly, Dorothea Kristoff, preceded her in death as well as her precious Nana, (Natalie Adams).
Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial, held at 12 noon, on Tuesday, November 8th, 2011 at St. Theresa Church. The church is located at 6622 Haskell St in Houston, Texas. A private Rite of Committal will be for family members only at Woodlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory to St. Theresa Catholic Church for her Masses.

I am so incredibly saddened to hear about Michelle!! I just found out, and I am really in shock--never would have thought. She was one of the most generous people I ever knew, and I loved her so much. One of the best friends I have ever had--20yrs. I know she's in heaven now, think of her all the time. Michelle and I were childhood friends, while attending St. Theresa School. Michelle and I were once very close and shared so many secrets (girl stuff). Michelle's home was one of the few that my mom would allow me to spend the night. I remember that fluffy Persian cat that she loved. I just learned about her death and words can't explain how I feel at this moment, especially when I've tried looking for her the last 10 years. Let me express my deepest sympathy for the loss of Michelle. I went to Memorial High School with her and have many fond memories of our time there. She was and will always be a beautiful soul that brought laughter to many. I will always remember her for introducing me to the "more exotic" cats she always loved, her flare for fashion, and ability to bring humor to all situations. She will be greatly missed. God Bless!

My condolences for your great loss. Michelle was a very special person. I'm glad that I was part of her life for a short while many years ago. The memories of her and the cats she had at that time are still fresh in my mind. I remember the fun I had going to cat shows with her. The one where she purchased Grendel, the Burmese kitten, will always remain a special memory to me. Michelle's love for animals was truly a beautiful thing. May she rest in eternal peace and love.
