William Collins Obituary

WILLIAM (BILL) COLLINS, 54, a loving husband, father and brother, pasted away Thursday, December 25th at his home in Houston. Bill was born and raised in Houston, Texas where his father, Albert Collins worked as an editor for the Houston Chronicle. Albert served on Gen. Mac Arthur's press staff during WWII. Bill enjoyed fishing, reading, surfing, snowboarding and flying. For 20 years, Bill owned and operated a successful machine shop. He was also an active church member at Life Tabernacle. Even with the difficulties in the later part of his life, he always found time to help others, even if it were merely a word of encouragement. Bill is preceded in death by his father, Albert and mother, Wanda. He is survived by his wife, Kathie; sons, Thomas and Michael; brothers, Wayne, Denton and Joe; and a host of other family and friends. Bill would have wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

So sorry for your loss. My Dad, Norman Baxter, worked at the Chronicle also. Al and Wanda were friends with my parents and we all spent a lot of happy times together.

My deepest sympathies on the death of your husband and father. I knew Bill as a child ("Billy" then) when our families would get together. I remember what a happy person he was even then. May God bless you in this difficult time.
