I knew she was a remarkable person just through our morning chats as I walked the dog. In addition to all her distinguished academic achievements, she was a wonderful neighbor.

It is with a heart that hurts and a soul that celebrates that I send my deepest condolences to Hally Beth's family and colleagues. I remember many wonderful times with Hally Beth at conferences, on the golf course, and in her home, She was a mentor and friend and someone who had great influence on me personally and professionally. I first met her through her books and then in person at different professional conferences. Her personal impact on my life will always be remembered. I was blessed to have traveled on life's journey with her. With gratitude for her life well lived. Love, Sharon Shields (Professor and Associate Dean, Peabody College of Vanderbilt University)

I will always remember how much fun we all had at the Galveston camp during Easter. Some of the best summer memories of catching crabs and fish, playing in the surf and looking for shells, and just being with family. I am sure that Aunt Hally and Mom, along with Gia, are having some great conversation right now. Aunt Hally was such an interesting person. I always enjoyed visiting with her. I will miss those conversations as Im sure a lot of us will. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Pam and Hally. Love, John Lovejoy
