Wally, a sad time indeed. Isabel was such a lovely person and a most generous gift to our Texas culture. I know how much you will miss her. All best wishes to you and your family and to Nancy and Maconda. Mary Lib Thornhill

My deepest sympathies to you and your family Mr. Wilson. I will always cherish the fond memories of you all both and the deepest respect you all had for me and my family growing up as a young boy out on the ranch. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

Isabel Wilson's generosity and concern for the arts in Texas extended far beyond Houston. Members of the Board of the Chinati Foundation, in Marfa, are among those who have and will continue to esteem the role this great lady has played in the cultural life of our state. She will be sorely missed and warmly remembered. -- William Jordan, Dallas

After working for Mrs. Wilson's father for many years, I finally had the pleasure of meeting her at a Fine Arts Museum dinner a few months ago. She was an awesome lady, and the Fine Arts Museum will miss her sorely. Mr. Wilson, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.

Tuesday 27 March, Houston lost a valued native daughter who championed its culture and spirit. Isabel Wilson will be long-remembered for her savvy, her humanity and indescribable character and dignity. My family and I send our sincere wishes for comfort and acceptance to her husband and partner Wally, her children, sisters Maconda and Nancy, her extended family and all who had the good fortune to befriend this lovely lady. It is difficult to imagine my native city without Isabel Brown Wilson to embellish it. Sad day, indeed.

Only a month ago, Isabel was in her element--riding on the front of a hunting car pointing out birds, badgers, and butterflies. What a wonderful day we had in the field. This is a sad time for those of us at the Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute. She was a great friend of the Institute and we will miss her dearly.
