My most heartfelt sympathies go to the family and relatives of Evelyn Johnson. I remember what an honor it was when I photographed her for the Down in Houston book project. Once I photographed her for the portrait you see with her obituary here and the other time was for group photo with many of her musician friends who worked with at Duke-Peacock I also remember what a grand time she had at the Duke-Peacock Reunion at the Eldorado Ballroom in 2003. She was a wonderful kind person and I will always remember her.
