To the Siefert Family,
In this difficult time, please know that I had the honor to serve with Jake over the last several years and I've known few men of his caliber. Jake was a friend, a leader, a moral beacon. Those of us who are still in Iraq, continuing the mission he passed to us early this year, were all deeply impacted at the news of his loss. A retrospective moment of silence was observed and we spent the evening reflecting on how blessed we all were to have known him, served with him, and been his friends and brothers. Jake will live on in our hearts as a true American Hero. On behalf of the members of Support Platoon, HHC, 4/112 Armor, Past and Present, I wish to thank you for his service and for your many sacrifices. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of reflection. Jake, God bless you, man. You kept it real. See you on the next range...
All my best,
SGT Rob Pearson

Jake, a life long friend, a roommate, and a man of God. There is just so much that he is and I learned from him. I miss him. Everywhere I look you are there. With that big goofy smile on your face. I know you’re in a great place looking over us all. As you always have. I will see you on the beach, Jake.
Cheers,
Rusty

I remember Jacob in kindergarten and the weekend that I babysat the boys. I was so touched by the books that you made for each of your sons, and now I realize how special those memories will be. I can't even imagine what your family is going through right now but how comforting to know where he is. Praise God. My thoughts and heartfelt prayers are with your family. In HIS love, Lois Niezgoda

There are so many wonderful things about Jacob that I love. He was devoted to the Lord and shared his love of the Lord openly. He was full of grace and used his wisdom of the bible to help others in need. I am truly blessed to have known Jake and all that he believed. He touched my soul with our talks about God. For someone so young, he had more wisdom than most. Jake, I will miss you! I rejoice knowing that you are with the Lord and your heavenly life has just begun. I cannot help but feel selfish and want you back here. I am only human. The Sieferts have lost an amazaing man. My heart goes out to everyone who knew Jake.
In Him,

What we will be reminded of when we think of Jake:
Patriotism, we will always be grateful for men like Jake to risk their lives to fight for our country, are rights, are way of living, and our freedom.
Hope, we were so glad to hear that Jake had made it back from Iraq, and others will also follow his footsteps back to his country, his family, friends, and loved ones.
Appreciation for life, we forget how precious our time here on this earth is. It is up to us to honor Jake by taking a moment out of each day to appreciate what we have.
Jake gave us a flag from his tour in Iraq. The flag hangs in our living room, we will not forget.
