In the early 1960's my family purchased a wonderful small home in Spring Branch addition in Houston, TX designed by Lars Bang. The man we bought it from grew up with him. I loved that house like no other I had ever lived in. The front wall which faced the street was crafted from red brick and glass in and outside. Just to watch the light change daily with the rotation of the Earth was like a ritual. Small but functional ,the floor plan just "worked" I would never have sold it except for the fact that I needed to be closer to my daughter who had just given birth to a daughter and needed help. I still miss that wonderful home and always will. He was a genius at what he did! Thank you!

Candy, Chris(topher), and Scott(ie),
Kathryn and Michael so enjoyed the Thanksgiving they spent with your family, father & grandfather. Wish I'd had the opportunity to meet him. May you have memories as unique as he seemed to be to bring you comfort and to keep him in your hearts.
Love,
Kay

Lynn, Candy and Dana,
I know I don't have to tell you what an awesome father you had. He was such an inspiration, a storyteller, and a loving, generous man. If Lars was sitting at your table or in your home, you knew it was going to be entertaining. I enjoyed listening to his stories of the early days in Houston. He was and is a "giant" in my mind.
I will always have a special place in my heart for Lars. He was a wonderful companion to my mother, Barbara. They both enjoyed and respected each other tremendously. It is hard to let go of the ones we love. I hope you can find comfort in knowing that his gift of life, love and laughter remain with the Manning family.
