Daddy Morton shall remain one of the strongest influences in my life. He had a heart of gold and treasured the simple things life has to offer. He reminded me in his own way how important I was as his first son's wife and the mother of his only grandson, Jack Rose. He was a Daddy to me too. I was so blessed to see him shine the day he met that grandbaby! I don't think I ever saw him that happy as he smiled from ear to ear! He was so proud of the family and how it showed that he was a loving husband and father full of strength. I'll never forget the day he gave me a ride in his Chevy Nova White in pristine condition... I felt like a princess! When Mom and Daddy Morton had Jack Rose for the first year of his life, when I'd pick up Jack after work, I'd say, "I love you Daddy Morton!" and he'd say, "Becareful backin' out." That was his way and I grew to adore him for those words that shall forever be in my heart. He shall forever be missed, loved and honored. His memory will be carried on as he is an Angel watching over us and Jack Rose. I'm so thankful that they shared so much time together in the sweetest years of Jack's life...We love you Daddy! Becareful backin' out...Hugs and Much Love to you in Heaven and on Roe Street. Don't you worry, I will take care of Curtis and Jack Rose and of course, Mom too.
Love forever and always,
Holly Lee

My Daddy is in my heart forever. He meant the world to me and I am the father and husband I am today because of the lessons he taught me. I am grateful for the 44 years we had as father and son and will treasure those memories and share them with my son for the rest of my life until I see him again . I love you Daddy ...

I loved my father-in-law so much. He accepted me without question and loved me as one of his own. I will always treasure the time we spent together. He was a good father, spouse, father-in-law, and an all around good and moral man. We will miss him dearly...

It is with heavy hearts we acknowledge the death of Mervin and offer sincere sympathy to Betty, Curtis and Michael and families. We lived three houses apart on Roe Street for over thirty years, from 1965 to 2003, watching our kids grow up together. Daily, Mervin and Betty and just as often, Mervin alone walking with the dog. We always knew that if there was a need Mervin was a phone call away with advice and/or help. Our prayers and thoughts are with you, as you go forward.

My sincere condolences to Mervin's family during this most difficult time. I worked with Mervin at Dresser Cullen Venture and a finer man I never knew. He always spoke well of his children and wife and I know he loved working on his cars. There never was a better Chief Engineer. I hope your years of wonderful memories will see you through these dark hours.
