Bolivar Andrews Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 10, 2012.
Bolivar Coleman Andrews III died unexpectedly while on a fishing trip with friends on South Padre Island on the 6th of December 2012.
He was born on the 26th of July 1961, grew up in Houston, and graduated from Lamar High School. He attended St. Edward's University in Austin and Schreiner Institute in Kerrville. Bolivar made his home in Austin and worked in the real estate investment business for over thirty years.

He was a very good and caring man, and developed many close friendships. He was also close to everyone in his family, but had a special bond with his sister, Jeannette, her husband Eric, and their five children, to whom he was devoted, extremely loving, and generous.
In addition to his attributes for enhancing the properties he had acquired for future sale, Bolivar was known for his love of the great outdoors. He especially appreciated his time at the family farm in Van Zandt County, and fishing along the Texas Gulf Coast.

He is survived by his father and step-mother, Bolivar and Marilyn Andrews; his sister, Jeanette, and husband Eric; and their five children: Andrew, Dillon, Shelby, Mary Catherine and Juliette, all of Potomac Maryland. He is also survived by his step-brother, Edmund Knolle and wife Ellecia, and their three children: Mary Margaret, Kathryn, and Marie Ellecia; his step-sister, Katherine and husband Davis, and their three children: Davis, Caroline and William; and his step-sister, Martha and husband J.C. Melcher. He was predeceased by his mother, Janet Guthrie Andrews; and his sister, Mary Guthrie Andrews.

Bolivar's father wants to leave you with his favorite prayer repeated to Bolivar and the rest of the family countless times, "God grant me the courage to accept the things I cannot change, the strength to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference."
The memorial service is to be conducted at three o'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, the 11th of December, at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road in Houston, where the Rev. Dr. Russell J. Levenson, Jr., Rector, is to officiate. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent Bagby Parish Hall.

Prior to Tuesday's service, the family will have gathered for a private interment at Glenwood Cemetery in Houston.
In lieu of customary remembrances, and for those desiring, contributions in Bolivar's memory may be directed to the charity of one's choice .

I just found out, too late to attend funeral, but I want Bolivars father to know that there are soooo many people in Austin that loved your son!!! Luke, Jay myself grieving his death. I have heard so many stories about time he spent with his sister. Just talked to him the day before he left for Thanksgiving. He loved his sister. Brother in law. Kids. I spent time with him in Canton. Always joked of opening up a blueberry stand for first Monday! He loved his Camaro. My husband says he loved ME! Well, Bolivar, I loved YOU!! What a gift to mankind. If Bolivars Dad reads this, please know that your son lived and loved. And he loved me and my children. You should be so proud of such a son. Kelli. 512-426-9353.

So very sorry for this tragic loss. This makes 6 friends of mine who have lost adult children. No loss could be more severe. Your mind can barely accept the passing of your parents and friends, but to bury your child is an unthinkable event. Boliver, you have had much more than your share of tradgedy over the years. They say the Lord never gives you more than you can handle. You must be incredibly strong.
Sincerest condolences.
