It was with great sadness we learned of the passing of our Leon. He was a wonderful, outstanding, and kind person who will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.

The Weiner Department Store gave me my first opportunity as an employee. I was 14 years old and was given a parttime job as a gift wrapper during the holiday season. The manager of the Washington Avenue Store noticed my determination as a young employee and soon put me out on the main floor selling in the Men's Department. I felt very honored and was called back to work during the Spring Holidays as a very young salesperson. Over and over I credit my first employer, Weiner's Department Store, of giving me the opportunity to work in their store. I am now 75 years old and the work ethics I learned during those early years at Weiner's still hold true in my current work. Thank you Mr. Weiner for the greatest opportunity of my early work days to be an employee of your great business. As I became an adult, I continued to shop at Weiner's and could always find the latest fashion trends and was often asked where I purchased my outfits. May the family of Leon Weiner continue to be proud and honored by his devotion, not only to his family and friends but to his community and the great city of Houston, Texas.
