Although we are cousins I always thought of you as an uncle. Simply due to the wisdom that you were always willing to share. I will never forget the wise words you passed on to me. Even though as child I did not understand them, now as man it has all became crystal clear. Thank you for all and you will be dearly missed.

I am a CRNA that worked with Carl many years at TMH. He was a fabulous listener, and rarely but most impotantly would give me excellent council when I needed guidance the most. Carl was a wonderful example of what we are all meant to be. May peace be with Carl's family and friends.

"Mr. Carl" was always so pleasant and had no problem sharing that big, beautiful smile. No one was a stranger. I am one of his Methodist Hospital family members that will truly miss his presence. I saw him Friday at approximately 12:22 and he was wearing that gorgeous smile. May God give his family the strength to press on.

Dear Soror Brenda,
This is to express my sincere sympathy on the death of Carl, my friend. I shall never forget the love and concern that both Brenda and Carl expressed during my serious illness. Their visits to the hospital and to my home gave me a sense of well-being and comfort. Anyone who knew Carl and Brenda can attest to their genuiness, deep and abiding spirituality, and faith in God. We will miss Carl, but we will always see him and feel his presence in the exuding love, professionalism and radiant smiles of his loving and devoted wife, Brenda.
Sincerely,
Dr. Polly Sparks Turner

When I heard of his passing, I immediately began to reminisce on the many times Carl Jr. and I spent together. As first cousins around the same age, my Aunt Gladys (Carl's mother) always made sure she brought him down to see me so we would enjoy each others company and play games like the care-fee children we were. I was deeply hurt to hear of Carl Jr's death, and I send my deepest condolences to his wife. He will be tremendously missed.

Carl Jr., it is your life that taught me how to be a Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37) via your life long real world examples. Therefore, in my Biblical Dictionary, next to the definition of a Good Samaritan, I will place your picture. THANK YOU so very much for all you did for me. -- Johnny

To the Family of Carl B. Ards, Jr.
The Apostle Paul wrote "to live is Christ and to die is gain". While experiencing a hospital stay some ten years ago, Carl showed up in a Christ-like manner at a critical time and lifted my spirits. Later, came to the family reuion with that same kindren spirit. Our prayers are with you in this moment of lost.
