Aimée Atkinson Obituary

AIMÉE SIDONIE LINDA ATKINSON, beloved wife, daughter, sister and friend, passed away May 14, 2006. Aimée was born on January 21, 1955 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Mequon Wisconsin and attended college in Wisconsin and Texas. Aimée was an accomplished artist and craftswoman, whose original purses and Christmas decorations appeared in arts and crafts shows throughout Texas. She founded "SOS"(Share Our Success), a support group for artists. The beauty she created is surpassed only by the beauty and strength of her spirit. Aimée was preceded in death by her dear brother, Ethan Atkinson, and is survived by her husband, Carl Roppolo, mother and step-father, Rosemary and Perry Vienot, all of Houston, sister, Adrienne Atkinson, niece Miranda Dobbs and nephew, Geoffrey Dobbs, all of New York City, step-siblings Ann Grandich and Tom Vienot, both of Houston, and Beth Vienot of Two Rivers, Wisconsin, and other family members. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Aimée's name to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, www.lustgartenfoundation.org.

I was so sad to hear of Aimee's illness and death. She and my daughter, Nancy Scheinfeld, were close friends for quite a while in Milwaukee. They were a delight to watch, sharing an artistic sensibility and a wonderful imagination. My condolences to you, Rosemary, whom I remember well.

Sincerely,

Audrey Scheinfeld Mann

I knew Aimee in San Antonio many years ago, and took the picture of her that was used in the death announcement. She was a delightful person; bright, creative, full of life. Her death is a great loss.

Aimee was a gentle soul. I met Aimee a long time ago through her mother, Rosemary, who helped me through a very difficult time. My heart goes out to Aimee's family. May you all find peace.

I worked with Aimee at Mountain Products in Houston. She and I shared a love of cats. I am saddened by her death at such a young age. She will be missed, but she's in a much better place.

Aimee was my best friend at Oriole Lane School in Mequon. I remember going to the Milwaukee Art Center for classes together, and days spent at her beautiful house on Lake Michigan, filled with intriguing art. I am so sorry to learn of her illness and death, and will cherish the memories of our childhood.

Aimee’s passing saddens me to the bone. A friend from more than 30 years ago, we only connected a few times since we both left Wisconsin. I will cherish my memories of Aimee and the time together we had as friends. My thoughts go out to Aimee’s family for your loss.

There is some magic missing in the universe now.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.

Her love and memory will always remain in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayer are with all of you!

My heart goes out to Carl, her family, and her friends.

Aimée was a 7th and 8th grade friend back at Range Line School. The memories of all of us passing notes and picking partners in dance class will be fond.

She was taken too soon, and will be missed by many.
