To Esther and Debbie

It's been such a long time since I've seen all of you, I only heard updates from my mom. When I went back home last june I planned to see as many family members as I could before I left again. My mom said David had been sick and I wanted to see him, but unfortunately I never did. I'm sorry I couldn't make it to the funeral, I wish so much that I could've been there. All I could do was remember him from here. I told my husband the funniest memory I have of me and David is when we were kids in Olivia's wedding. We were told to link arms down the aisle and we thought that was so nasty, so we held hands. For some reason that didn't seem so gross. I wish I kept in touch, had more memories but I will treasure the ones I have and remember him for the energetic, fun person he was.

hey whats up david sorry i could not be there but i had to work i wanted to write something for you to remember us by. like all those times we cruise our bikes thru the avenues like we were bad riding with the black mmags and white tires. I remember like it was just yesterday and the we would go to my house and play basketball till it got dark. my yard was full of people playing ball and getting haircuts. i want you to remember us like that young and innocent with nothing better else to do. ill always remember you as the tough one chango .... i'll see you in the thug mansion in the sky peace... j.d aka duke

Dear Esther,

I have no words to express my deepest feeling of sympathy for you on the passing of your son. I know you are a very faith filled person and this will be the crutch you will need to get through the initial shock of his death. I have always appreciated our friendship and even though we don't see each other on a regular basis, I think of you often. God bless you and your family through this difficult time.

Chango,

God has decided to make you an Angel of his along with Michael "Bone". I will miss you cousin very much, all the times we shared just chillen at my mom's or at friends. I still can't believe what has happened but I know this time comes for everyone, but it will be hard. I know it will be very hard for my sister, Tina. You and her were very close you guys had a connection. She was always worried about you and sometimes let it get the best of her. You will always remain in my heart and prayers 'D' because all that is held dear never fades away. I will find my comfort and strength in my memories as I hope everyone else will.

Aunt Esther & Fabiola,

I'm sorry I know for the lost we had words do not heal. Remember he is in a better place and he will always be with us in spirit. May the lord always be with you through these times.

Dear Henry, Kay and Zepeda family: I am so, so sorry to hear about the loss of David. It is heartbreaking to hear of someone so young being taken from his family. Although I did not know David personally, I have no doubt he was a fine boy and I know he will be sorely missed by his family and friends. At a time like this, words are not enough so I will copy a recent quote: "Those who hope in the Lord will soar on wings like eagles, will run and not grow weary, will walk and not be faint" Isaiah 40:31." My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Tia Esther, Fabiola, & Family,

May the dear lord provide time to gently eases your grief, may he instill beautiful memories to restore the joy that has been taken from your heart.

Tia, you know how very close me and David became once we realized we were cousins. He became not just my cousin but another brother to me. I will always cherish every moment we spent together and hold them dear within my heart. I hope you forgive me Fabiola for being soooooooo over protected with him. I know I gave you a hard time and I wasn't being the cousin that 'D' expected from me. I seen him go through alot in passed relationships and life and all I ever wanted is for my cousin to be happy! I was afraid of him getting hurt again. I too have lost something a cousin, brother, and a best friend. I will miss my cousin very much, his big hugs, wonderful smile. I'm mad that my dear Chango was taken away from us but I know he is in a better place watching over us! Fabiola I hope you understand & please except my apologizes & condolences. Love you Tia and be strong, I'm here for you if you need anything! 832-277-3280

To the family of David 'Chongo' Zepeda:

You will never know how deeply sadden we are over the lost of your loved one, and our friend, Chongo. In the four years we knew him, we grew to love him like family. Although we know that this is a road that we must all some day travel, it's so very hard when it happens unexpectedly. We will miss his smile. We will miss his laughter. We will miss his sincerity, but we will always have many memories to get us through the rough times. David will be greatly missed, and he will live in our hearts forever! Our thoughts, prayers, and love goes out to you, the family, as you make it through one of life's many challenges. May God's grace shine on you and lighten the grief of your hearts.
