Lucille Kostka Obituary

Lucille M. Kostka, age 84, of 1939 31st St., Two Rivers, died peacefully Friday night, November 4, 2011, at the Hamilton Care Center, Two Rivers.

Lucille was born May 5, 1927, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Archie and Julia (Yana) Baugniet. On April 19, 1947, she married Frank W. Kostka Jr. at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on September 14, 2009. Lucille enjoyed her "card club" lady friends and playing cards and cribbage with her family and friends. Our sauerkraut and dumpling family gatherings are what legends are made of.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: Jim and Liz Kostka, Weatherford, Tex.; two daughters and a son-in-law: Diane and Paul Funk, Two Rivers, and Susan Mlot, Manitowoc and her special friend, Bruce Marshall; four grandchildren: Christine (Mike) Stille, Sam (Karla) Funk, Jake (Jolene) Funk and Michael (Mary) Krom; and two great grandchildren: Tanner and Wyatt Stille. She is further survived by two sisters-in-law: June Wacek and Joanne Kostka, along with very loving nieces and nephews and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law: Lee Mlot; and two brothers: Daniel and Orin Baugniet.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2011, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Reynebeau with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. There will be no Wednesday evening visitation.

Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers, is assisting the Kostka family with funeral arrangements.

I was so sorry to hear that your mom had passed away. She and I had been neighbors and friends for many years, and had known each other since kindergarten. May our Lord bless you and keep you through this sad time.

To the family of Lucille, I am "cousin Bernie's" stepdaughter and I was welcomed into the family later on in my life. Lucille and Frank treated me as one of the family and I am forever grateful. Bernie told me that when Lucille was a young girl that she was absolutely beautiful. It is evident by this picture that she remained beautiful throughout her life.

My Sympathy to you. May your memories of your mother and grandmother provide you with some comfort.

take care

My husband, Don, and I are so sorry for your loss. Lucille and Frankie were the world's best neighbors to my mom and dad. They were watchful of my parents' welfare and could always, always be counted on to extend a cheerful helping hand. I know that you will all miss Lucille every single day. I hope that passing time will soon replace your grief with all of the wonderful memories I know you must have of her. God bless.
