Lorene was born in Werner, N.D. on August 1, 1916, to Harry Elias and Amanda Larson Scott. The family moved to Nampa in September of 1925 when Lorene was 9 years old so that her sisters could attend college at NNC. Lorene attended grade school at Sunny Ridge and graduated from Nampa High in 1934. She married Roy Pilcher on the 3rd of May 1936. They lived in Boise for 4 years where daughter Aliene was born. In 1940 they moved to Emmett where daughter Connie was born. They spent a few months in Colfax, WA but returned to Nampa, then moved to Parma where they lived on a dairy farm for 8 1/2 years. While residing there, they had another daughter, Marianne and a son, Terry. Lorene accepted the Lord as her Savior at the Parma Church of the Nazarene during a revival meeting when she was 33 years old. Shortly thereafter she was baptized in the Boise River in Notus. The Pilchers returned to Nampa in 1950 and joined First Church of the Nazarene that same year. In 1957, Roy and Lorene helped Reverend Richard Jackson and wife, Josie along with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Geise establish the Bethel Church of the Nazarene where they became Charter Members. In 1966 they renewed their membership at First Church where they attended faithfully and served the Lord there for many years. Lorene worked for 8 1/2 years as Coffee Shop Supervisor in the Student Union Building at NNC as well as assisted at Sir Richards as hostess and did some bookkeeping there also. In the 1980's Lorene was in charge of the church Care House for several years where she spent many of her happiest hours giving out food and clothing to the needy. Lorene belonged to the 99 Sunday School Class and the Golden Hour Missionary Chapter. After their retirement Roy and Lorene became Charter members of Kings Travelers Good Sams Chapter. They loved to camp and fish while spending time with friends in the Good Sams Club. They also enjoyed a few winters as snow birds in Yuma, Arizona. Lorene became a member of the 55 and Better Senior Group at First Church where she sang with the Senior Choral Choir at the Nampa Senior Center led by Jane Larson.
