Jack Blake Obituary

Jack passed away May 28th 2011, at his home in Caldwell Idaho after fighting cancer. Jack was born August 30th 1925, in Geary, Okla., to Henry and Mary Blake. He was the 5th of 7 children.
Jack enlisted in the United States Navy in 1943 and served in the Pacific on the Destroyer USS Anthony as Watertender 3rd class, during WWII. He earned an Honorable Discharge.
Jack became a Journeyman Iron Worker working on nearly all the Interstate bridges in southern Idaho, all the dams on the Snake River and the 3 dams on the Boise River along with numerous other projects in Wyoming, Oregon and Washington. After retiring from the Iron Workers Union # 732, he took a trip to Denver with his oldest son in a semi truck, starting another career as a truck driver.
Jack married Roberta Belt on May 4th 1956, and remained married for 44 years until her death in 2000.
They had 4 children, the twins, June Florom and Clinton Blake, Jane Darrah and Jack Blake Jr.
Jack is survived by his 4 children, 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren
Viewing will be at Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel in Nampa, ID on the evening of Thursday June 2nd at 5 p.m.
Graveside services will be Friday, June 3rd at 1p.m. Kohlerlawn Cemetery at 76 6th Street North, Nampa, Idaho.
