Dennis Noland Johnson
December 15, 1946 - June 3, 2012
We have lost the most Wonderful Man that anyone could have ever known. He was on his yearly spring camping run with his family when someone at "the main hunting camp" needed him more than us. He will be deeply and forever missed by all who knew and loved him. Dennis was born in Sacramento California in 1946; he attended and graduated from James Marshall High School in 1964 and then moved onto a career in the Navy. Dennis was with the Navy from December 1964 to June 1968. He was in the Mediterranean during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. The next part of his outstanding life was spent with the waitress that stole his heart Carla June Sammons. Carla came with a child Dean, which he took on as his own. They were married and lived in Kamiah until they moved to Lewiston Id, where he started work at the local Lumber mill. While in Lewiston they owned and operated the Hillary Motel. During this point in Dennis' life Carla gave birth to his sons Daymion and David, family was a true motivation in his life. The motel life was not for them so on to Salmon Idaho for a short stint before settling in at Elk City Idaho with some steady work at Shear Lumber mill. The boys were getting older and school stopped at 8th grade, so off to the Clearwater forest mill in Kooskia so the boys could attend high school. It was at this point in his life he was introduced to his lovely daughter Tonya. Dennis drove to Portland Oregon and met up with Tonya from there they drove to Newport and got to know each other. Ever restless Dennis pulled up stakes to move to Boise to be closer to his father. In 1991 Tonya gave birth to Kassandra and Dennis and Lloyd had the pleasure of a trip to meet the new grand baby. During the first year in Boise he lost Carla which forever changed his future path. While living in the Treasure valley he moved into the concrete business with West valley which branched off later to be E-M Construction. He was lucky enough to stumble into the life of Phyllis Westhusin. She had a huge family which he fell in love with instantaneously. Phyllis' Children Shannon, Tim, and Shelly were welcomed as his own. He continued to work for E-M Construction until retirement. He loved spending time with his family during the holidays (setting up many Christmas trees). He also never missed a chance to go camping, fishing and Hunting since He loved the outdoors. He had many Children and grandchildren that he would have done anything for, most the time they didn't even ask, he just knew what they needed and provided it. One of the most recent Milestones in his life was becoming a Great- Grandfather. He may have retired from the construction business but found a new Hobby, cuddling Great grandson Rylan and Chasing Great grandson Kyler. In closing we all feel very blessed to have been part of his amazing life.
