Mollie Casner, 61, of Nampa, ID passed away peacefully at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, UT on February 1, 2013. She was born to Marvin & Mary Whisenhunt in Florence, AZ on March 9, 1951. Mollie was raised and attended school in Coolidge, AZ. After high school, she moved to Phoenix and worked for Motorola until she moved to Idaho to be closer to her mother and sister. On her 24th birthday she gave birth to her only child, Cynthia Lynn. She married Lee Casner on June 22, 1977 in Nampa. She was a beloved wife, mother, grammy, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend. She loved spending time with her grandson, Ricky, going camping, and traveling to the Oregon coast. She worked at Brown Bus Co. for the last 30 years, first as a bus driver, then as route supervisor, and finally as assistant dispatcher.
Mollie is survived by her husband Lee Casner, daughter and son-in-law Cindy & Rick Piersol, grandson Ricky Piersol, sister and brother-law, Ruby & Dave Lamb, brother Mearl "Butch" Whisenhunt, aunt Christine Whitney, several nieces & nephews, stepsons, Joe (Michelle) Casner, Tim Casner, Ron Casner, Gary Casner and step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Marvin "Pete" Whisenhunt, and an infant sister.
The family would like to thank Dr. Reid and the staff from Intermountain Medical Center for the wonderful care that she received during her lengthy stay.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the College Church of the Nazarene, 504 E. Dewey Ave., Nampa. Burial will follow at Kohlerlawn Cemetery. There will be a gathering afterward at Brown Bus Company, 2111 E. Sherman Ave, Nampa. Services are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. Mollie, I feel like I am going to wake up from a bed dream. That I will go to work on Monday, that you will be there. We Honor you today Mollie, We will all be there. We are coming in a bus. Remember all those years ago, when there were only 57 drivers. Remember that warm day after noon route, how you asked me for that sweatshirt, Remember Mollie? Mollie, the Mr will never again receive your peanut brittle for CHRISTmas. I love you Mollie. I will miss you each morning as I check in at work. Today is the day where it becomes real for me. There will be lots of tears shed and lots of laughs laughed as we remember you this day....I can't believe it is time to say goodbye! I know that you will and are already enjoying heaven. Although I had not yet been able to return to driving at BBC, it always seemed like when I would call in for something, that it was Mollie that I usually got to talk with and catch up on the BBC goings on. I always enjoyed talking with her! I was not aware of all of her health challenges until I had the privledge of serving her in my grocery checkout line at Walmart the day before she was heading down to Utah for her latest surgery. She was always so kind & cheerful throughout the 14 years that I have known her. She was looking so forward to hopefully gaining her health back when I talked with her just a few days before Christmas. My thoughts & prayers go out to her Family at this time; she will be truly missed by so many of us!
