I sat here for several minutes trying to think of the appropriate things to say...your happiness and humor will be missed so much. Your laughter and presence will come to mind whenever the family gets together and whenever the memories creep into our thoughts. Your generosity and willingness to help others without blinking an eye, without question is a lesson we all will remember through the years. We will miss seeing you and hearing your voice. Until we all meet again...

About 8 years ago, Fred gave me a tanned elk hide from a hunt he'd been on with my husband and some other friends. (I had asked the guys for some small pieces as I was making a dream-catcher for my granddaughter.) Fred gave me the whole hide and wouldn't let me pay for it. I heard many, many stories about those hunts, and Fred's name was mentioned often, always with a smile and a chuckle.

I don't even know how to say the kind of person my Uncle Fred was. He was always there for me. He helped me out when I needed it and even when I didn't. He was my biggest cheerleader, my best supporter. He laughed at all my jokes and accepted me for who I am. He always thanked me when I gave him a hug; I should have been the one who thanked him. He loved so much without expecting anything in return. He was always content to just be a part of things. I don't think I have quite wrapped my mind around the fact that he is gone. He was so excited for my future and I couldn't wait to show him, everyone what I could do. There is a sadness in my heart I don't think will ever go away. I still don't even know how to say what I feel. He was so much a part of my life that him being gone makes it seem like it has been torn in two. I know he is still cheering me on, I just don't get to be so lucky as to hear him anymore. I know how many people loved him and I am so sorry for all of our loss. I loved him so much and I will always will.

You never had to love my boys and support them in all their sporting events and just always be there for them the way you were..... But you always did with such great enthusiasm and completely from your heart because you sincerely wanted to. We will forever miss hearing you cheering them on, on the fields and in life. Although we cannot see you, you are closer than ever before and a very special angel to always watch over.
