Frank Clark Obituary

Frank James Clark
1939 ~ 2013
Frank James Clark, of Kuna, Idaho, passed away Monday September 9, 2013 with Copper by his side. Frank was born September 23, 1939 to Foster M. and Frances Kattner Clark. Growing up, Frank lived on E. Acacia St., Salinas, California alongside his older sister Virginia Clark Fair and younger sister Susan Clark Laible. He graduated from Salinas High School in 1957, and then enlisted in the United States Navy that fall. He attended boot camp in San Diego and specialized in electronics at Great Lakes Naval Training Center, Illinois. He served on the USS Saratoga and USS Independence aircraft carriers. In 1960 Frank enrolled at San Jose State University and then joined the family business with his father at Salinas Feed and Seed.
August 28, 1971 Frank married Judith Alvigi Yager. They remained in the Salinas Valley and were active in local 4-H programs. In 1980 the family moved to Kuna, Idaho. He was employed by Ferry Morse Seed Co., and lastly JM Roche & Associates where he was assigned to Idaho Power. Holidays and family get togethers were important to both Frank and Judy. Frank may have murmured under his breath about setting up for Christmas dinner, but he so appreciated and loved the company and visiting with friends and family.
The family enjoyed spending time with their many friends in Silver City playing horseshoes and cards and countless mountain tours riding in the truck, on the ATVs or even by horseback. Frank became quite the volleyball fan between his daughters and his granddaughter Samantha, he and Judy always managed to show their support at games, especially when the team traveled to Winnemucca, the slot machines always called their names.
Frank loved baseball, NASCAR and college football. He would always let you know when the Dodgers were winning, even more so if you were a Giant's fan. He enjoyed traveling especially when he was able to attend a race or Boise State game. Tailgating at the BSU games became a favorite pastime. He possessed a gift of being able to visit with anyone and was especially grateful to T-Bone and crew for always welcoming him and even giving him the opportunity to sit in the skybox.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Judy. He is survived by his daughter Lori Thornton of Kuna Idaho, his son Allan Clark of Salinas California and his step-daughter Terri Bentley and grandchildren Christian and Samantha Bentley of Middleton Idaho; sisters Virginia Fair of San Marcos, California and Susan Laible (Karl) of Nampa, Idaho; cousin Allan Blaine of Lincoln, California, along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and his former spouse, Paula Clark of Salinas California.
A celebration of his life with military honors will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. A reception will follow at the Broadmore Country Club, Nampa. An online guest book may be signed at www.nampafuneralhome.com

Lori, Allan, Terri, and Family,
I'm so sorry to hear that Frank passed away. It was certainly my privilege to be of service to Frank and Judy for so many years. I thoroughly enjoyed Frank's quick whit and sarcasm, just the right amount. Hopefully, you all can carry on the family traditions and share the memories.
