Joel Gauthier Obituary

Joel L. Gauthier

72, of Zionsville, passed away on Jul 17, 2015 at IU North Hospital in Carmel. He was born in Ann Arbor, MI on Feb 20, 1943, the only child of the late Allen E. and Frances G. (Fuller) Gauthier. Raised in Michigan, Joel graduated from Bloomfield Hills High School and received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Michigan. From 1967 - 1969, he served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.On Aug 22, 1964, he was married to Lynne I. (Feetham) Gauthier in Detroit, MI. They had spent 50 loving years together. Joel moved to Indiana in 1989 after spending many years in Michigan and Washington DC. He spent his working career as a CPA and in 1991 started his own firm, Gauthier & Kimmerling, LLC in Indianapolis. During his life he held many memberships including, the Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis, the Kiwanis of Indianapolis, Triangle Fraternity and several Antique Car Clubs. Joel held positions on the boards of the Buick Heritage Alliance and the Fletcher Place. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include, wife, Lynne I. Gauthier of Zionsville; children, Douglas (Carla) Gauthier of Zionsville and Kristin (Mark) Mikarts of Venice, FL; grandchildren, Olivia, Andrew, Jack, Zachary and Ryan.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date at the Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory in Lebanon have been entrusted with the arrangements. GAUTHIER FAMILY YOU ALL HAVE MY CONDOLENCES ON JOEL'S PASSING ON. I REJOICE THOUGH FOR WHERE HE IS WITH OUR LORD. I FLAT OUT ASSURE YOU HE DOES MISS YOU BUT HE IS ALSO CELEBRATING LIFE AND ALL THAT IT IS NOW AND FOREVER MORE FOR HE IS WITH JESUS ! WOW !!!

Joel was a well respected and dedicated member of the USS Indianapolis Museum Board. Everyone who served with him would agree that it was a joy to have him on the team. His many ideas and contributions will live on. Thank you Lynne for sharing Joel with the Museum Board.
