I met Dale at the Columbus Oldtimers event after Billy Earl's death. His hilarious sense of humor and memory for the history of the sport were wonderful. I was honored to be a friend and wish I had known him earlier.

I became acquainted with Dale in the early 1980s thru our mutual interest in the Mutual Racing Association track roadster history which led to a long friendship and being involved together in many vintage racing events GOOD BY OLD FRIEND we had a great ride together

I first met Dale when he was Billy Earl's 'ride' to the annual Columbus Speedway/25th Street Raceway Old Timers Reunion. From that moment on, Dale was my 'go-to' source of information on the Roaring Roadster era in Indiana. Fine individual and a 'walking encyclopedia' of vintage racing information. R.I.P. my friend.
