James William Kappus
65, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2012, surrounded by the loving arms of his family.
Mr. Kappus honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1966 to 1970 and maintained an active service in the U.S. Air Force Reserves until his retirement as a master sergeant. He continued a lifelong career in jet engine maintenance and quality management engineering. He was also a proud retiree from Raytheon.
His final hours were greeted by the rising of the Sunday morning rays preparing the splendor for a glorious golf day. Many a fairway is saddened this day to know one of their finest patrons will no longer grace their greens.
Mr. Kappus was preceded in death by his parents, Robert A. Kappus and Justina Kappus. He is survived by his loving wife, Tanis Kappus; along with 3 children, Robert D. (Debra) Kappus, Michelle (Randy) Mittman, Susan (Jeff) Bohanon; 4 grandchildren, Robert W. Kappus, Daniel Kappus, Brooke Bohanon and Samuel Mittman; brother, Robert J. (Kelli) Kappus; and a loving niece and nephew.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 15 in Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel . Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
